After the Abidjan Marathon: Three Nights Including Yamoussoukro
The Route: Abidjan (1 night) → Yamoussoukro (2 nights) → Abidjan → Airport Logistics: Use a booked driver or operator for the whole trip and agree the return in advance. Marathon Month: November Duration: 3 nights

Yamoussoukro is home to the Notre-Dame de la Paix basilica, which the tourism ministry lists among the country's religious sites. This is the longest of the Abidjan options and the one that needs the most booking.
November in Yamoussoukro: the climate is hot and humid in a typical November, and rain is likely. Check the forecast before you travel.
The First Night: Abidjan
Rest after the race. Keep your Abidjan room for the first night, eat early and do nothing else.
Getting There
Travel on the Monday or Tuesday with a booked driver or operator. Ask for the road time and any current service schedule when you book, and agree the price. Put your luggage in the car with you and carry water.
Nights Two and Three: Yamoussoukro
Book a room in advance through your operator and ask whether it has a restaurant on site, whether breakfast can be early and how far it is from the basilica. Check the basilica's visiting hours and any guided tour before you go, and shorten any standing or walking that your legs resist.
Getting Home
Return to Abidjan with a buffer day before your flight. Félix Houphouët-Boigny International Airport (ABJ) is the main arrival point, and a booked transfer is the simplest way to reach it. Avoid putting a long road journey on the same day as an international departure.
