The Maratona de Aracaju starts at 04:00 on a Sunday, which means most finishers are showered and fed by lunchtime and facing a long Monday. Croa do Goré is a half-day answer that asks for very little walking. It is a tidal outing, so the departure time is set by the tide table for the week, not by your hotel breakfast.
November in Aracaju: This is the drier end of the year. INMET's 1991 to 2020 normals put average November rainfall at 38.3 mm, against 226.9 mm in May, and the mean daily maximum at 29.8°C. A dry month does not guarantee calm water. Wind, tide and sea state decide whether the boat goes out, and the operator makes that call.
The Outing
A local operator publishes the outing as a half-day trip of about five hours. The road leg towards Mosqueiro takes around 40 minutes, then a boat departs on the Vaza-Barris river. Ask which day's tide works best and whether the hotel pick-up is included, because the published times are the operator's ordinary estimates and not a promise for a given Monday.
Check the boarding before you book. Stepping from a jetty or the sand into a small boat is more demanding than the words "half day" suggest when the quadriceps are still sore from 42 km. Ask about the height of the step, whether there is a handrail, and how much time is spent standing in the water or on sand. Shade is limited on the water, so a cap, sunscreen and a refillable water bottle matter more than usual.
If boarding looks uncomfortable, choose a land-based day instead. The Projeto Tamar Oceanário on Avenida Santos Dumont in Atalaia is open Tuesday to Sunday from 10:00 to 17:00 and needs no boat.
Planning Notes
Leave the main luggage at your Aracaju hotel by prior agreement and carry only a small day bag. Do not add a fixed lunch or a second excursion without checking the operator's itinerary. The outing is not part of marathon entry, so fares, pick-up limits and cancellation terms are agreed directly with the operator. Ask for the current price, because it is not published in a form worth quoting here.
Return to Aracaju in time for your onward plans. Santa Maria airport (AJU) is the city's airport, and the operator's return time should leave a comfortable margin before check-in closes.
