└──────────────────────(boat and road, same route back)───────────────────┘
The published day trip to Mangue Seco takes about ten hours, includes road transport, a crossing of the Rio Real and a guide, and excludes buggy rides, lunch and drinks. That is a long day for legs that ran a marathon. A three-night stay keeps the travel to two short stages and leaves two days free.
November on the coast: INMET's Aracaju normals give 38.3 mm of rain in November against 226.9 mm in May, and a mean daily maximum of 29.8°C. The month is on the drier side, but local weather and boat conditions on the Bahia side are separate, so check them close to the date.
Nights One to Three: Mangue Seco
Mangue Seco sits across the Rio Real from Sergipe, and the village is reached by road and boat. Sand underfoot is the defining feature. The operator describes sand throughout, so wheeled luggage will not travel well. Pack a small bag and agree with the boat operator that your luggage can be carried.
Book accommodation in the village separately, together with a boat transfer that accepts your luggage and a return connection. Rates and availability change from season to season, so ask the operator for current guesthouse options and keep the first day for settling in.
Use the second and third days for short village or beach visits, meals and, if you feel like it, one locally operated outing. A dune or buggy day is optional and not a low-effort activity. Do not treat it as a required part of the stay. This itinerary is a suggested structure, not a package with a named hotel or a guaranteed departure.
Getting Home
Return to Aracaju by the same road and boat, and fly from Santa Maria airport (AJU). Leave a comfortable margin after the final boat, as the crossing depends on tide and weather. If you have an early flight, spend the final night in Aracaju instead.
