After the Córdoba Marathon: The Calamuchita Valley

The Route: Córdoba → Villa General Belgrano (3 nights, base) → local outings → Córdoba → Airport Logistics: About 89 km by road to the base. Provincial tourism lists a three-night route for the valley, which is a suggestion and not a booked service. Check transport for any outing before you rely on it. Marathon Month: July Duration: 3 nights

Three nights allow a rest day after the race and two more for short outings, all from one base so that bags are unpacked once. The Córdoba Marathon is on a Sunday, so travel on Monday or Tuesday and let the legs set the pace.

July in Calamuchita: July is winter. Córdoba city's monthly averages for 1981 to 2010 give a mean daily low of 4.0°C and a mean daily high of 17.6°C, and a valley town can be colder after dark. A chocolate festival ran in Villa General Belgrano from 4 to 26 July in 2026, so the 2027 dates are worth checking before you book a room.

Nights One to Three: One Base

Stay in Villa General Belgrano and leave your luggage in one place. Use the first day for rest and the second for a café, a museum or a short walk on the flat. Avoid the clock-tower viewpoint straight after the race: provincial tourism describes it as 98 spiral steps.

Plan outings only once you have checked how to reach them, since valley buses and taxi fares vary. Ask the town's tourism office for current options and for the days when places are open. Rates and availability change from season to season.

Getting Home

Return to Córdoba by road on the fourth day. Ambrosio Taravella airport (COR) is the airport, and municipal tourism lists an Aerobus between the airport and the Nueva Terminal de Ómnibus. Check its timetable and payment method with the operator, and add a night in the city before a valuable international flight if the connection is tight.
