After LIVE!42K Brasília: One More Night in the Capital

The Route: Brasília hotel → Congresso Nacional → Brasília hotel → Cathedral → Torre de TV and Memorial JK → Airport (BSB) Logistics: One extra night in the hotel you already have, with taxis for each outing. The Congress visit needs a booking, and the cathedral's guided visits need email confirmation. Marathon Month: August Duration: 1 night

Monday: Hotel ──(taxi)──> Congresso Nacional ──> Hotel
Tuesday: Hotel ──(taxi)──> Catedral ──(taxi)──> Torre de TV and Memorial JK ──(taxi)──> Airport (BSB)

Two nights in one hotel make the best use of the sights that close on Mondays. The cathedral, the TV tower and the Memorial JK all keep Tuesday to Sunday hours, while the Congress visit is open on a Monday.

August in Brasília is dry, with cool mornings and warm afternoons. Sun and dry air are the main discomforts, so carry water and plan indoor visits for the afternoon.

Monday: Congress

Book the guided visit in advance. It runs in half-hour groups of up to 50, usually between 09:00 and 17:00, and needs an accepted identity document. Foreign visitors normally carry a passport. Take a taxi, keep to the group's pace and sit when you can.

Tuesday: the cathedral and the tower

The cathedral's visitor page gives Tuesday to Friday from 08:00 to 16:45. Visits pause for worship, covered shoulders are expected and caps come off. A guided visit costs R$15 per person and needs email confirmation beforehand. In the afternoon, take a taxi to the Torre de TV and the Memorial JK, which a local directory lists open Tuesday to Sunday, from 09:00 to 18:45 for the tower and 09:00 to 18:00 for the memorial. Confirm the hours with each operator, and ask whether the route is step-free.

Where to stay

Keep your race-weekend room. Cullinan Hplus Premium, in the Setor Hoteleiro Norte on Quadra 04, Bloco E, and Athos Bulcão Hplus Executive, on Quadra 05, Bloco D, are two of the operator's hotels in the sector. Ask each about the extra night, late checkout and luggage storage.

Where to eat

The Brasília Shopping lists restaurant and food-court hours from noon to 22:00 on Sundays. Ring ahead for the days you visit. The Mané Mercado at the Arena BRB Mané Garrincha is a food hall with table ordering and reservations, and its hours vary between listings.

Getting to the airport

Brasília International Airport (BSB) has a regular bus 102 to the Rodoviária with a metro link, official taxis at domestic arrivals and a pickup point for app cars. A taxi from the hotel is the simplest way out. Leave time for luggage.
