After the Mauritius Marathon: A Slow Monday on the South Coast

The Route: Hotel → Breakfast → Optional beach time → Reserved lunch → Hotel Logistics: Stay where you slept on race night. Book lunch ahead. Marathon Month: July Duration: Day trip

Hotel ──> Late breakfast ──> Short beach time ──> Reserved lunch ──> Hotel

The race starts at 06:30 on a Sunday and finishes where it began, so you wake on Monday a few minutes from the beach with nothing to organise. That is the best case for sore legs. Keep your bags where they are.

July in Mauritius: winter. Island climatology gives a national mean around 20°C, and the south coast is often windy, so a sheltered table beats an exposed beach. Showers are possible.

Morning

Eat late. A short walk on the sand is plenty, and the local swimming conditions are worth asking about, because the south coast is exposed.

Lunch

Stars at Shanti Maurice on the Saint Félix Coastal Road serves lunch from 12:30 to 14:30 and takes non-residents with a confirmed reservation. Its menu has listed pasta, chicken with mashed potatoes and catch of the day. On the Bel Ombre estate, C Beach Club serves Mediterranean food from noon to 15:00 and also needs a booking. Confirm Monday hours when you reserve.

Afternoon

Go back to the room and rest. If you want an outing, the next itineraries here add a night and a driver.
