The race finishes in Silbertal, but the railway that serves the start is the Arlberg line, which runs straight to Innsbruck. That makes Innsbruck the natural place to end the trip: a city with an airport, a flat centre and mountains you can see without climbing them. The way there from Silbertal goes through St. Anton, so leave time for the return shuttle or a transfer.

June in Innsbruck: the city lies in a valley and is warmer than the mountains above it, so the temperature on the Nordkette will feel very different. Check the forecast and pack a rain layer.

Getting there

From Silbertal, reach St. Anton on the Sunday by the event return shuttle or a transfer you arrange yourself, and then take the train to Innsbruck Hauptbahnhof. The published 2025/26 timetable examples show about 68 minutes. Confirm the current timetable on oebb.at, and buy a reserved seat if you carry luggage.

Nights one to three: Innsbruck

Choose one hotel and keep it. The Hotel Goldener Adler stands in the old town on Herzog-Friedrich-Straße, and the Hotel Weisses Kreuz is another long-established old-town option. Check availability and breakfast hours for your dates.

The old town is compact and flat, with arcaded streets and the Golden Roof, the gilded balcony that is the city's best-known landmark. Walk it slowly on the first afternoon.

For views without climbing, the Nordkette cable cars carry you from the city to the mountains above in a few stages. Hours and prices change by season, so check the operator's site, and dress for the cold at the top.

Where to eat

The old town has plenty of restaurants serving Tyrolean dishes. Opening days vary, and Sunday and Monday can be quiet, so book for the evening.

Getting to Innsbruck Airport

Airport bus F runs from Innsbruck Hauptbahnhof and takes about 20 minutes under ordinary service. Check the timetable the evening before, and allow time for your flight.
