The Novi Sad Marathon finishes on a Sunday afternoon, and the train to Belgrade is the shortest onward trip. Belgrade is also where the airport is.

October in Belgrade: the city is cooler than in summer and the 2026 race was run in heavy rain, so pack a waterproof. The Belgrade Marathon is a separate race; see its page on this site for its date.

Getting there

Srbija Voz trains run from Petrovaradin to Beograd Centar about every 20 minutes, taking about 53 minutes, for a few euros. Buses take about 1 hour 28 minutes. Novi Sad's railway stops changed on 12 October 2026, so check the departure station and the timetable at srbijavoz.rs before travelling.

Nights One to Three: Belgrade

The Nikola Tesla Museum opens Monday 10:00 to 18:00 and Tuesday to Sunday 10:00 to 20:00. Guided tours can be booked on the museum's site (tesla-museum.org), and the ticket price and tour languages are listed there. Monday, the day after the race, is a good day for it: the visit is indoors and level.

The Kalemegdan fortress and the pedestrian street Knez Mihailova are the usual walks. Kalemegdan involves slopes, so save it for the third day. Opening times for other museums were not checked.

Where to stay

Hotel Moskva, on Terazije in the centre of the city, is a long-established option.

Getting to the airport

Belgrade Nikola Tesla Airport (BEG) is about 15 minutes by taxi from the centre, and city bus and airport shuttle services run about every 30 minutes. Check the current line numbers before travelling. Leave a margin of three hours before a flight.
