lunch, then hotel
You have run four laps of the same square. The day after is a good moment to learn what is in it.
September in Ostrava is mild, with rain always possible. The New City Hall tower is open from April to October, 09:00 to 19:00 according to the tourist office, so a September Monday is inside the season. Opening days for the museum should be checked.
The morning
Start with the tower. The New City Hall stands at Prokešovo náměstí 1803/8, and its viewing tower has lifts and barrier-free access, which is welcome after a marathon. From the top the city spreads out flat, with the old ironworks and the slag heaps on the horizon. Spend half an hour. You can see the river corridor you ran along and pick out where the laps went.
Walk back to Masarykovo náměstí. The Ostrava Museum is at Masarykovo náměstí 1, on the same square where the race started and finished. Check which exhibitions are open and whether the stairs suit you.
The afternoon
Eat. Comedor, at Zámecká 488/20, lists Sunday opening from 12:00 to 21:30, but check its Monday hours before you go. The hotels with restaurants, Imperial and Mercure, are alternatives, though their opening hours for non-guests were not confirmed.
PLATO Ostrava, a contemporary art centre at Porážková 26, is an indoor option if the weather turns. Ask about seating and access.
Go back to the hotel before the legs decide for you. This is a day built on staying put, which is the point.
