A Sunday marathon, a rest day on Monday and the long road to Bonito do not combine well, so the sensible plan is to leave a day of recovery in Campo Grande before travelling. Take the transfer on Monday afternoon or on Tuesday, keep the activity low and come back with time to spare.

Choose one low-intensity attraction for the Tuesday. Do not stack a cave descent, a waterfall trail and a flotation outing on legs that ran 42 km two days earlier. Each of those has its own walking and fitness requirements, and you should ask the operator about them before you pay.

If you take a shared transfer, check that it serves your hotel. A rural property outside the town may need a private car. Keep your luggage at the base hotel and travel light on the activity day.

Getting Home

Return to Campo Grande on the Wednesday by road, allowing the same 4h30 and a margin. The airport is Campo Grande (CGR); taxis wait outside arrivals at all hours, and buses 409 and 414 stop outside the terminal. Do not book a flight for the evening of the return day.
