The Pomerode Marathon is an early-morning race in a small hill town. Balneário Camboriú is the opposite: a seafront city with a long, flat promenade, which asks very little of tired legs.

October on the coast: October does not guarantee swimming weather or clean bathing water, so check local conditions on the day. The nearest climate figures are Pomerode's October monthly range of 15 to 23°C and 194 mm of rain, and the coast will differ.

Getting There

The local tourism association describes combining Pomerode with the coast along the BR-470 and the coastal road network, but no current through-bus service or 2027 frequency was found. The realistic public plan is a Pomerode–Blumenau coach followed by a separately booked coast-bound coach, plus a last-mile taxi. If the connections do not fit your day, a pre-booked private transfer is the simpler choice.

Where to Stay

  • Hotel Bella Camboriu is a well-reviewed hotel in the central area, close to the sea front. Ask about the walk to the sand and about breakfast times.
  • Hotel Mercure Camboriu is a larger hotel with an indoor pool, which is a useful rainy-day fallback. Confirm the lift access to your floor.

The Walk

Praia Central has a beachfront promenade of about 7 km, according to the city's convention bureau. Do not try to walk all of it. A short section, with a coffee stop and a sit on a bench, is the right amount for the first afternoon. Soft sand is hard on a marathon-tired calf, so stay on the paving.

The Spare Day

Keep the second day open for rest, a short coastal walk or another beach visit, depending on the weather.

Where to Eat

Ask your hotel for a restaurant near the promenade and book dinner early. Seafood is the obvious choice on the coast.

Getting Home

Leave from Balneário Camboriú by pre-booked transfer or coach on the third morning. Navegantes airport is a separate journey. The distance is not the same as the 75 km from Pomerode, so ask your hotel for the transfer time and add a generous buffer.
