The Pomerode Marathon finishes on a Sunday morning. Blumenau is the larger town 30 km away, with a shared airport shuttle terminus and a short museum circuit, which suits a runner flying out the day after.

The shared airport transfer terminates at Alameda Rio Branco 92 in Blumenau, which is not automatically where the intercity coach stops.

Quality Hotel Blumenau is a mid-range hotel south of the centre with strong reviews. Ask about breakfast and the walk to the old town.
Slaviero Blumenau is a mid-range hotel closer to the centre, also well reviewed. Ask about late checkout if you have a flight.

The Museums

Keep the visit compact. The city tourism office lists the Museu da Cerveja at Rua XV de Novembro 160, generally 09:30 to 16:00 except on the last Sunday of the month. The Museu de Arte and the Museu de Hábitos e Costumes list 10:00 to 16:00 from Tuesday to Sunday. Monday therefore needs a different plan, such as a slow walk and an early dinner.
